In every workshop we experiment with creative exercises, learn new techniques and write together. Everyone will leave the workshops with useful writing tools, new material and a warm, supportive writing community. Every workshop offered is open to every level.

NEW MATERIALSOLD OUT

We will experiment with new writing techniques and creative exercises to generate an abundance of raw material. We will explore character building, point of view, the use of objects in storytelling, dialogue, titling pieces and more. 800 kr

NEW MATERIAL:

Saturday, November 9, 11am-1:30pm, Soho House

If you are a Soho member, I will be teaching the workshop above!

6-WEEK SUNDAY WINTER WRITING INTENSIVE:

Sunday, January 5, 12, 19, 26 + February 2, 9, 2-5pm, Valby

Kickstart the new year with a creative writing intensive capped at six writers. If you are looking to develop (or get back in touch with) your writing practice, then this is the workshop for you. It will be hyggeligt—candles, tea, coffee, homemade baked goods. If a writer has to travel on a weekend but doesn't want to miss a session, I will send a Zoom link. The workshop is capped at six so that each writer is able to receive thorough, individualized feedback.

Each session will start with a brief craft lesson and warm-up exercise, followed by an in-depth workshop of two pieces. Writers will edit two submissions (up to 2,500 words each) in advance via Google Docs.

Workshopping allows writers to gain fresh perspectives on their work by engaging with others who bring unique insights, skills, and experiences. This winter intensive will create a collaborative environment where writers can identify strengths and areas for growth, refine their voice and deepen the connection to their audience. By receiving constructive feedback, writers will be encouraged to experiment and ultimately develop a more impactful version of their work. My goal is for everyone to leave the intensive with a submittable writing piece and a clear direction for where to go next. You will also become part of a supportive writing circle in Copenhagen, and you are  welcome to keep collaborating and offering feedback to each other beyond the workshop.

The price of this six-week writing intensive (18 hours of in-person workshopping) is 4500 kr. If you'd like to confirm your place, I just ask for a 25% non-refundable deposit (1125 kr) as space is quite limited.

Payment for all workshops accepted via MobilePay or Paypal

TESTIMONIALS

"I have taken part in Fiona Picard's bi-weekly writing workshop since September 2022. Fiona has put in place the structures and processes that allow a dozen writers of varying levels - from beginners to published authors - to develop their craft and flourish as artists. She organises every two to three-hour session so that the writers can share their work and receive feedback; take part in spontaneous writing exercises; discuss writing techniques and share teaching materials. But most importantly, Fiona has built a community of trust, friendship, and collaboration. Each of us has found the confidence to share our work and open our hearts to feedback and support. If we believe that writing is not only a solitary endeavour but also one in which we learn from one another and share our ideas and inspiration, then Fiona's classes embody that ethos. We are lucky to have her."
